Durante las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas ha aumentado el inter\u00e9s por estudiar este tipo de interacciones sociales en los ni\u00f1os (por ejemplo, Rubin, Bukowski, y Parker, 2006; Laursen, Finkelstein y Betts, 2001; Tresgallo, 2011). Los estudios demuestran que los conflictos se dan mayoritariamente en el tiempo de recreo de los centros escolares, debido a que se trata de un ambiente m\u00e1s libre de interacci\u00f3n y relaci\u00f3n con iguales y que resulta m\u00e1s complejo controlar todas las zonas y espacios del mismo espacio de recreo (F\u00e9lix, Godoy, Mart\u00ednez, 2008; Olweus, 1991; 1994; Rivers y Smith, 1994).<\/p>\n<p>Son muchas las investigaciones realizadas, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, entorno a los conflictos y la violencia en edad escolar (Defensor del Pueblo, 2000; D\u00edaz-Aguado, Mart\u00ednez-Arias y Mart\u00edn-Seoane, 2004; Garc\u00eda-L\u00f3pez y Mart\u00ednez-C\u00e9spedes, 2001; Hern\u00e1ndez-de Frutos y Casares, 2002; Mart\u00edn, Rodr\u00edguez y Marchesi, 2003; Monjas, Sureda y Garc\u00eda-Bacete, 2008; Mora-Merch\u00e1n, 1997; Olweus, 1993; Ortega y Mora-Merchan, 1997; Ram\u00edrez y Justicia, 2006; Serrano e Ibarrola, 2005; Smith, Madsen y Moody, 1999; entre muchos otros). Destacar que no existe un consenso en la clasificaci\u00f3n de los conflictos, cada autor se centra en un aspecto del concepto, no siendo necesariamente contradictorios. Por ejemplo, Vi\u00f1as (2007) clasifica los conflictos seg\u00fan sus causas y estos pueden ser de relaci\u00f3n, de rendimiento, de poder o de identidad. Sierralta (1999) propone una taxonom\u00eda seg\u00fan el nivel en el que se presenta el conflicto y el n\u00famero de personas implicadas siendo intrapersonal, interpersonal, intragrupal o intergrupal.<\/p>\n<p>En nuestro estudio nos hemos basado en la clasificaci\u00f3n propuesta en el informe del Defensor del Pueblo (2006) y Mart\u00edn, Rodr\u00edguez y Marchesi (2003), a partir de las cuales podemos distinguir diferentes formas de conflicto:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agresi\u00f3n verbal: Insultar y re\u00edrse del otro, hablar mal del otro.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Agresi\u00f3n f\u00edsica: Agresi\u00f3n directa (pegar\u2026) y agresi\u00f3n indirecta (robar, romper, esconder cosas\u2026).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Exclusi\u00f3n social: aislamiento, rechazo, ignorar, no dejar participar y chantaje.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Acoso sexual (verbal o f\u00edsico).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De acuerdo con la literatura anterior, las variables m\u00e1s influyentes en situaciones de conflicto son sexo y edad (Ostrov y Crick, 2007; Murray-Cierre y Ostrov, 2009). Varios estudios destacan que la mayor incidencia de conflictos tiene lugar entre las edades de 9 a 14 a\u00f1os de edad, cuando la coacci\u00f3n es a menudo la estrategia m\u00e1s utilizada para resolver conflictos (Laursen et al, 2001;. Pelegrini y Long, 2002). Sin embargo, los ni\u00f1os m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os viven m\u00e1s conflictos durante el patio de recreo debido a su inmadurez y tienden a\u00a0 presentar comportamientos m\u00e1s agresivos durante las situaciones de conflicto (Sidorowicz y Cabello, 2009). En cuanto a sexo, los estudios muestran que los ni\u00f1os presentan un mayor n\u00famero de agresiones f\u00edsicas mientras que las ni\u00f1as tienden a presentar agresiones de tipo relacional. (Murray-Cierre y Ostrov, 2009; Toldos, 2005).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"\/res\/wp-content\/uploads\/imgCK\/images\/peg2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nEn esta misma direcci\u00f3n, la reacci\u00f3n de los padres a los conflictos se ha estudiado relativamente poco. Estudios anteriores, sin embargo, se\u00f1alan que las reacciones son diferentes entre ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as, aunque ambos muestran una tendencia hacia la agresi\u00f3n en un\u00a0 primer momento (Hay, Nash, Caplan, Ishikawa y Vespo, 2011).<\/p>\n<p>En cuanto a la variable sexo, se evidencia que los conflictos son un fen\u00f3meno mayoritariamente masculino. Si la analizamos, se puede afirmar que en los chicos es mucho m\u00e1s frecuente recurrir a las agresiones f\u00edsicas y amenazas, es decir, al maltrato directo como forma de intimidaci\u00f3n. En las chicas, son m\u00e1s frecuentes los rumores y el aislamiento social o el maltrato indirecto (Ben\u00edtez y Justicia, 2006; Toldos, 2005).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img style=\"line-height: 20.8px; text-align: start;\" src=\"\/res\/wp-content\/uploads\/imgCK\/images\/enf.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nUna vez analizados los conflictos que hay en el patio es conveniente centrarnos en la gesti\u00f3n de los mismos por parte de los profesores. En general, se puede afirmar que los maestros detectan e intervienen poco en los conflictos que ocurren durante el recreo, as\u00ed mismo no se sienten preparados para afrontarlos (Byrne, 1994; Craig y Pepler, 1996; Esc\u00e1mez, 2001; Rigby, 1996; Van der Meulen <em>et al.<\/em>, 2003). En concreto, Esc\u00e1mez (2001) puso de manifiesto que el 57% de los docentes no se sent\u00edan preparados para afrontar los conflictos que surgen en el aula, un 40% se sent\u00edan\u00a0 desmotivados ante este asunto, mientras que un 7% manifestaba su deseo de abandonar la docencia, si pudieran, y un 10% afirmaba que el tema de los conflictos en el aula no es su responsabilidad.<\/p>\n<p>Los docentes intervienen en mayor porcentaje cuando suceden ciertas situaciones como pegar, robar cosas e intimidaciones, en casos m\u00e1s graves como chantaje, amenazas con armas y exclusi\u00f3n social, los maestros se ven desbordados (Del Barrio, Barrios, Van der Meulen y Guti\u00e9rrez, 2003).<\/p>\n<p>Algunos autores evidencian que cuando se ignoran las conductas abusivas, los alumnos sienten que no pueden contar con la protecci\u00f3n del maestro y, a su vez, perciben que \u00e9ste acepta la intimidaci\u00f3n (Bauman y Del Rio, 2006; Fekkes, Pijpers y Verloove-Vanhorick, 2005). En este sentido queda clara la importancia de la actitud de los maestros delante de los conflictos.<\/p>\n<p>En concreto, el objetivo de este art\u00edculo es describir los tipos de conflictos que se dan en el patio de las escuelas de primaria en funci\u00f3n de la edad y el sexo. As\u00ed como el tipo de intervenci\u00f3n que hacen los maestros delante de estos conflictos.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>M\u00e9todo<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En esta investigaci\u00f3n se ha utilizado un dise\u00f1o no experimental descriptivo, a partir de un registro de observaci\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica, es decir, se han observado los conflictos tal y como se han dado en su contexto natural, para despu\u00e9s poder cuantificarlos y analizarlos.<\/p>\n<p>La observaci\u00f3n se ha llevado a cabo por investigadores entrenados para ello, atendiendo a dos consignas: anotaban los conflictos que ve\u00edan en primera persona y aquellos que los propios alumnos les\u00a0 explicaban.<\/p>\n<p>La muestra estuvo formada por 2.529 alumnos y alumnas de Educaci\u00f3n Primaria, pertenecientes a 44 escuelas ubicadas en zonas urbanas de la provincia de Lleida. De ellos 1.548 son varones (61,21%) y 981 mujeres (38,79%). Si tenemos en cuenta el curso acad\u00e9mico, quedar\u00edan distribuidos tal como sigue: 984 son alumnos de ciclo inicial (38,91%), 853 de ciclo medio (33,73%) y 692 de ciclo superior (27,36%).<\/p>\n<p>El resultado de la observaci\u00f3n ha sido de 746 conflictos, en los cuales han intervenido alumnos de los tres ciclos y de ambos sexos.<\/p>\n<p>Para llevar a cabo la observaci\u00f3n de las conductas conflictivas se ha utilizado un registro anecd\u00f3tico de las conductas conflictivas en el patio. El registro anecd\u00f3tico consta de tres dimensiones entre las que se encuentran los datos identificativos, la descripci\u00f3n del conflicto y de la intervenci\u00f3n que ha hecho el maestro responsable del tiempo de recreo.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez utilizada la prueba de jueces como herramienta para validar el registro, el resultado del Alfa de Cronbach es de 0,81, el cual se consider\u00f3 satisfactorio y aceptable dentro de los par\u00e1metros m\u00e9tricos.<\/p>\n<p>Las observaciones se realizaron durante el mes de marzo de 2015 en 44 escuelas por alumnos de 3r curso del Grado de Primaria de la Universidad de Lleida, que participaron de forma voluntaria. Se les explic\u00f3 los objetivos de la investigaci\u00f3n y las instrucciones para la observaci\u00f3n, que\u00a0fueron las siguientes: Deben describir las situaciones conflictivas entre los alumnos que se den durante los 30 minutos del recreo, siguiendo los apartados del registro, independientemente de si los maestros intervienen o no para solucionarlos.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez registrados, se categorizaron en funci\u00f3n de cuatro categor\u00edas: agresi\u00f3n verbal, agresi\u00f3n f\u00edsica, exclusi\u00f3n social e infringir las normas de la escuela. Cabe destacar, c\u00f3mo parece evidente, que no se observ\u00f3 ning\u00fan caso de agresi\u00f3n sexual.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Resultados<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Registro conflictos<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tal y como recoge la siguiente tabla, se puede observar que en total fueron 746 los conflictos registrados. Si analizamos la frecuencia de los conflictos podemos afirmar que se dan casi 17 conflictos por escuela (16,95) durante los 4 d\u00edas, lo que supone una frecuencia media de 4,25 conflictos por d\u00eda en cada una de las escuelas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>TABLA 1. Seguido de ciclo medio (8-10 a\u00f1os) y por \u00faltimo encontramos los conflictos de ciclo superior que suponen el 19,2%. Se puede afirmar que los conflictos se dan mayoritariamente entre alumnos de las mismas edades, pues los conflictos mixtos, es decir, en los cuales intervienen alumnos de diferentes ciclos, s\u00f3lo suponen un 17,4% del total.<\/p>\n<p>Atendiendo la variable sexo, se observa como el porcentaje m\u00e1s elevado (43,6%) corresponde a los alumnos de sexo masculino, seguido de los conflictos mixtos, es decir, aquellos en los que intervienen ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as (31,6%) y finalmente, el 24, 8% son conflictos donde intervienen solo ni\u00f1as.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de los resultados extra\u00eddos de la prueba Chi-cuadrado, y tal como se recoge en la siguiente tabla:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>TABLA 2. A continuaci\u00f3n se comentan los resultados por ciclos.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Ciclo Inicial:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Encontramos diferencias significativa en funci\u00f3n del sexo (p&lt;0.001). \u00a0En los conflictos donde intervienen s\u00f3lo ni\u00f1as, predominan los de la categor\u00eda \u00a0exclusi\u00f3n social, en concreto el aislamiento.<\/p>\n<p>En los conflictos donde interviene s\u00f3lo ni\u00f1os, predomina la agresi\u00f3n verbal, (b\u00e1sicamente\u00a0el insulto) y la agresi\u00f3n directa, en concreto pegar (Xie, Cairns, Cairns, 2002; Underwood, 2003).<\/p>\n<p>Cuando los conflictos son mixtos, est\u00e1n m\u00e1s relacionados con el hecho de infringir las normas de la escuela.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Ciclo Medio:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Encontramos diferencias significativas en funci\u00f3n del sexo (p=0.022). En los conflictos en los cuales intervienen \u00fanicamente ni\u00f1os predomina la agresi\u00f3n f\u00edsica. En los que \u00fanicamente intervienen ni\u00f1as, la exclusi\u00f3n social y no hay diferencias significativas en los conflictos mixtos.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Ciclo Superior:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No podemos afirmar que haya diferencias significativas pero s\u00ed que en los ni\u00f1os de ciclo superior predominan los conflictos de agresi\u00f3n f\u00edsica directa, en cambio, en las ni\u00f1as predominan los sociales (aislar y rechazar). En los mixtos los conflictos se dan cuando infringen las normas del centro.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Intervenci\u00f3n maestros:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Por lo que refiere a las intervenciones de los maestros, los resultados muestran que en la mayor\u00eda de los casos, con un 19,3% de frecuencia, los maestros piden explicaciones a sus alumnos sobre los sucesos sin ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1. La siguiente reacci\u00f3n m\u00e1s com\u00fan es castigarlos en un 16,2% de los casos. En porcentajes parecidos aparecen las intervenciones de \u201c<em>dar explicaciones, razonar y a posteriori se da un consejo, se proponen soluciones o se les pide que se disculpen<\/em>\u201d (14,6%) y la reacci\u00f3n de no intervenir (13,9%). En porcentajes inferiores, y no tan significativos, se les tranquiliza (8,2%), se les proponen soluciones y se les hace pedir disculpas (6,8%), se les piden explicaciones, razonamientos y se los tranquiliza (6,3%), en un 5,6% solucionan el conflicto entre los alumnos, en un porcentaje menor (4,8%) se les amenaza y se les da \u00f3rdenes, y en porcentajes muy poco significativos se les hace razonar y se les castiga (2%), se les hace razonar y pensar soluciones a la par que pedir disculpas y castigar (1,7%), y por \u00faltimo, en un porcentaje muy reducido (0,5%) interviene el alumno-mediador.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>TABLA 3. \u00a0Intervenci\u00f3n docente ante los conflictos (Elaboraci\u00f3n propia).<\/small><\/p>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"4\" align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #c1f3a0; height: 16px; width: 86px;\">\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<h2><strong>Discusi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Registro conflictos<\/em><\/p>\n<p>En general podemos afirmar que la agresi\u00f3n f\u00edsica y verbal son las que m\u00e1s abundan y esto coincide con la mayor\u00eda de estudios (Artavia, 2012; F\u00e9lix, Godoy y Mart\u00ednez, 2008) que afirman que existe un alto nivel de empleo de violencia tanto f\u00edsica como verbal, siendo las manifestaciones m\u00e1s comunes las peleas, golpes as\u00ed como el uso de un leguaje ofensivo.<\/p>\n<p>Es destacable el hecho de que la participaci\u00f3n de los varones en los conflictos sea considerablemente superior a la de las ni\u00f1as, siendo la agresi\u00f3n f\u00edsica la f\u00f3rmula m\u00e1s frecuente en los conflictos entre ni\u00f1os y la exclusi\u00f3n social entre las ni\u00f1as.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"\/res\/wp-content\/uploads\/imgCK\/images\/pun.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nEn esta investigaci\u00f3n encontramos que el mayor n\u00famero de conflictos se dan entre el alumnado de ciclo inicial, pero somos conscientes que el tipo de metodolog\u00eda utilizada, la observaci\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica, puede ser que no favorezca que podamos observar los conflictos en ciclo superior debido a que la gran mayor\u00eda solucionan los conflictos entre ellos y en el caso de las ni\u00f1as resultan m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles de observar.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Intervenci\u00f3n maestros<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Si analizamos la intervenci\u00f3n de los maestros observamos que el porcentaje de intervenciones en el que se proponen soluciones constructivas a los conflictos es inferior a un 30% de los casos (27,7%). El porcentaje en que los maestros no intervienen (13.9%) es bastante elevado pero inferior al porcentaje de veces que directamente se les castiga (16,2%). No es el objetivo de este estudio pero no podemos obviar la necesidad de reflexionar sobre la reacci\u00f3n de los maestros delante dichos conflictos, puesto que los maestros son el veh\u00edculo educativo en los centros escolares.<\/p>\n<p>Deber\u00edamos replantearnos la importancia de la formaci\u00f3n de los maestros en resoluci\u00f3n de conflictos, comunicaci\u00f3n asertiva o bien en Educaci\u00f3n Emocional, puesto que esta ya engloba dichas competencias.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Conclusiones<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Olweus, en 1993, adelantaba que los conflictos comportan consecuencias negativas para aquellos que los padecen. M\u00e1s recientemente Perren y Alsaker (2006), afirman que las consecuencias del maltrato entre iguales a corto, medio y largo plazo pueden ser debidos a la falta de autoestima, reducci\u00f3n de la confianza, aislamiento y\/o rechazo social, absentismo escolar, disminuci\u00f3n del rendimiento acad\u00e9mico, problemas psicosom\u00e1ticos, ansiedad, disfunci\u00f3n social, depresi\u00f3n, tendencias suicidas, etc. Mantener un buen clima de convivencia en el centro es requisito imprescindible para poder llevar a cabo el proceso de ense\u00f1anza-aprendizaje y garantizar al alumno su bienestar (Monarca, Rapopport y Fern\u00e1ndez Gonz\u00e1lez, 2012).<\/p>\n<p>Aunque los docentes no son los \u00fanicos responsables de la resoluci\u00f3n de conflictos\/maltrato entre iguales (Van der Meulen <em>et al.<\/em>, 2003), surge la necesidad de su pertinente intervenci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n para reducir las consecuencias negativas, sobretodo sobre las v\u00edctimas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img style=\"line-height: 20.8px; text-align: start;\" src=\"\/res\/wp-content\/uploads\/imgCK\/images\/adul2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nPor este motivo, los profesores son un elemento clave para reducir y resolver estos conflictos en las escuelas creando un clima positivo en ellas, dise\u00f1ando un plan de convivencia consensuado con los tres estamentos: alumnado, familias y profesorado (Collell \u00a0y Escud\u00e9, 2011), o incorporando alguna de las muchas propuestas cient\u00edficas como por ejemplo, el videojuego Happy 8-12 para aprender el proceso de regulaci\u00f3n emocional y la respuesta asertiva ante un conflicto interpersonal (Filella 2014); las asambleas propuestas para mejorar las relaciones en el recreo (Agramunt, Prats y Vidal, 2004); la mediaci\u00f3n escolar (Garc\u00eda-Raga, Mart\u00ednez-Usarralde y Sahuquillo, 2012; Lederach, 1996; Molina, 2005); programas espec\u00edficos como el del GROP (GROP, 2009), el de detecci\u00f3n-prevenci\u00f3n recomendado por Tuvilla (2004); t\u00e9cnicas de reducci\u00f3n de prejuicios y todo tipo de discriminaci\u00f3n (D\u00edaz-Aguado, 1999; Ortega y Mora-Merchan, 1997); el an\u00e1lisis de las relaciones del centro educativo como sistema (Vi\u00f1as y Dom\u00e9nech, 2001) que nos conduce a examinar el clima relacional, educativo, de seguridad y de pertenencia de los colegios (Vi\u00f1as y Dom\u00e9nech, 2001); \u201c<em>la escolarizaci\u00f3n de las emociones<\/em>\u201d (Goleman, 1996); numerosos informes como el de Vettenburg, incluido en el modelo de pol\u00edtica global \u201c<em>Whole Policy<\/em>\u201d, que apuesta por una acci\u00f3n preventiva (Vettenburg, 1999); proyectos de innovaci\u00f3n como Atl\u00e1ntida Educaci\u00f3n y Cultura Democr\u00e1tica (Bol\u00edvar y Guarro, 2007) del que Moreno y Torrego (2001) proponen un enfoque de modelo integrado del relacional y el punitivo-sancionador, el modelo de GROP, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Independientemente del m\u00e9todo o programa, podemos concluir que las claves de la intervenci\u00f3n son la intervenci\u00f3n temprana, el aprendizaje cooperativo, educar el respeto a la diversidad, el desarrollo del pensamiento alternativo y educar las competencias emocionales, siguiendo la f\u00f3rmula de confianza + l\u00edmites. Todo ello incidir\u00eda en la formaci\u00f3n inicial de los futuros maestros.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>L\u00edneas futuras<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Finalizado el estudio, se concluye que los conflictos se deben contemplar desde la perspectiva del aprendizaje, entendi\u00e9ndolos como una oportunidad para mejorar la convivencia, crecer como personas y como una ayuda para establecer una conexi\u00f3n con los m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os actuando como mediadores para la resoluci\u00f3n de los obst\u00e1culos desde un enfoque positivo (Mart\u00ednez, 2015).<\/p>\n<p>Hacen falta nuevos estudios para profundizar en la visi\u00f3n y vivencia de los docentes como pieza fundamental en la mayor\u00eda de intervenciones para as\u00ed comparar con resultados que se desprenden en esta investigaci\u00f3n y ampliar el conocimiento desde otras perspectivas.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n resultar\u00eda interesante analizar si hay diferencias entre la escuela rural y urbana y si el \u00a0tama\u00f1o de la escuela tambi\u00e9n es un factor influyente. Aunque seg\u00fan D\u00edaz-Agudo <em>et al<\/em>.
